 Pebbles & BamBam!
(Wicka & Flint) Adopted August 2011

Just a quick note to tell you that Wicka & Flint (Now Pebbles & Bam-Bam) have been a very happy addition to our family from the very start.  We still live in Strathmore, east of Calgary, where the dogs enjoy themselves tremendously, they even made great friends with our 2 cats.  In August 2014 it will be 2 years since we adopted them from you.  They are both very smart, well adjusted and very loving.  Our drive home with them was a bit interesting.  We stopped in Red Deer to let them out to pee, then we went to Harley Davidson`s to look around because my husband is a fan and rider, and when we got there we realized that they were having an SPCA barbecue fundraiser.  So we had lunch there to support the SPCA, then we bought some Harley Davidson Dog Collars.  We thought the SPCA coincidence was interesting.  The rest of the drive was fine as I again sat in the back seat with the dogs.  Bam-Bam was shy with my husband at first but he came around after a few weeks.  He now sits up on his back legs and waves his arms when he wants a belly rub.  He started doing this all on his own, no coaching from us.  Pebbles reaches for us with her front leg when she wants to be petted.  Also done on her own.  They are so adorable.     Please share this news and our sincere thanks with the foster family who had them.  Here is a picture of them looking out onto their yard.

Gracie's journey to Love

This is a difficult journey to write about.  Gracie was my soul mate, my angel, my baby girl.

June 5, 2012...Lana and Vera were found in the middle of the highway, in a box that had been dumped. It was raining and some kind stranger picked them up and  brought them both to Sundance they were 4 weeks old.

June 7, 2012....They entered my home and my life.
June 16, 2012....Discovered that the babies had Parvovirus.
June 22, 2012 - Lana (Gracie) came home from fighting her battle with Parvo...joined 2 days later by Vera

Things were going well until I noticed that the girls were losing fur.  They developed skin infections due to the medications from their battle with Parvovirus.  They finally got through that and on July 19, 2012 were spayed.  The very next day, Gracie got ill (again).  I finally looked at the little darling and said "if you stop getting sick, you can stay with me!"  Guess what. she wasn't sick another day!  My funny girl.  What a blessing in my life.  On July 30, 2012 Gracie became part of our family.  We loved her so much.  Sadly, due to the fact she battled parvovirus at such a young age, all the medications she was on, changed her brain chemistry.  By her second birthday, it was very evident that she was still sick.  On June 25, 2014 she crossed the Rainbow Bridge.  We miss her every single day.
